Telfair County endures rain, wind from Hermine

Wind and rain hit southern portion of Ga.

Telfair County saw steady rain throughout the day as Tropical Storm Hermine left its mark on Friday.

Residents awoke to gusty winds and heavy rain -- and in some cases, fallen trees.

After the strongest of the storm blew through early this morning, debris and limbs littered county roads.
Telfair County EMA Director Lee Conner spent the morning monitoring the conditions and taking the damage calls. He also worked with Georgia EMA on what to expect moving forward.
"As of now, we're not out of the ballpark but as of the tornadoes and all of that we came out pretty lucky,” Conner said.

While the county had its share of downed trees and power lines, it seemed to escape severe damage.
