Four men were arrested following an investigation of several thefts in Twiggs and Bibb counties.
The thefts took place in December and included firearms, power tools and ATVs.
Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum said they have recovered the stolen merchandise and made arrests. "Four people arrested and we've recovered approximately about $20,000 worth of merchandise," said Mitchum.
Arrested were: Condy Warren Ashe Jr., 53, Cory D. Brown, 24, Jeffery Blake Hasty, 30, and Joshua David Mixter, 33. Charges range from burglary, theft, trespassing and theft by receiving stolen property.
Sheriff Darren Mitchum said the suspects operated out of several counties. "Once we began our investigation it became apparent that the people were operating in Twiggs, we believe Bibb and Jones counties with what they were doing," said Mitchum.
Mixter, Brown and Ashe face several charges including felony theft by taking. Hasty is charged with felony theft by receiving. Mitchum said the charges come from multiple burglaries. "We actually have 5 cases. 4 that we've closed out and one that is still active," said Mitchum.
Sheriff Mitchum said all of the men involved except Mixter have previous arrest records in Twiggs county.
