Two dead after fiery wrong-way crash on I-16 in Laurens Co.

Two men died early Sunday morning after a fiery head-on collision on I-16E in Laurens County.

According to the DPS Public Information Office, GSP responded to a wreck near mile post 34 in Laurens County near Dudley around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

The initial investigation shows that a Toyota Avalon driven by Jared Adler, of Sandy Springs, was going westbound in the left eastbound lane of I-16E.

The Avalon hit a Saturn L200 head-on, causing the Saturn to become 'engulfed in flames' killing both the driver and the passenger.

The two were identified as Jack Deacon Harris and Garrett Harris.

Adler was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
