Two men arrested in connection to Macon burglaries

Two man accused of burglary and attempted burglary at several Macon businesses were arrested Friday morning, according to a Bibb Sheriff’s news release.

It says a deputy was patrolling near Edna Place Road on Friday around 3 a.m. when he spotted a car believed to be involved with recent commercial burglaries.

When the deputy tried to stop the white Oldsmobile Cutlass, the driver sped off. After a brief chase, the car stopped on Sharon Drive at Hallwood Circle and everyone inside got out and ran away.

Two of the four people inside the car were caught, one was 33-year-old Donovan Lee Green and the other was a male juvenile.

Green was taken to the Bibb jail and is charged with two counts of attempted burglary, two counts of burglary, one count of willful obstruction, one count of attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, and two counts of violation of probation.

The male juvenile was charged with theft by receiving and one count of criminal street gang activity and is being held at the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center.

The alleged burglaries took place at Walthall Convenience Store on Forsyth Road, Just Right Barber Shop on Log Cabin Drive and Family Dollar on Shurling Drive.

The burglaries are still under investigation. Information on the other two people in the car is unavailable at this time.
