Two women arrested after attempted robbery in Dublin Walmart parking lot

Two women are in jail after being accused of trying to rob a woman in the parking lot of the Dublin Walmart, according to Maj. Greg Dominy of the Dublin Police Department.

Dominy says a 65-year-old woman told police that she was getting back to her car after returning her buggy and saw a woman sitting in the passenger seat of her car with a long gun who told her to ‘get in.’

She ran away for help and the woman in the passenger seat, identified as 27-year-old Zaleika Jatrice Jiles of Wrightsville, got into a burgundy SUV and drove off.

East Dublin Police spotted the vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Chantell Montaneice Hooks of East Dublin, and found a sawed-off rifle inside.

The car was positively identified and the two women were arrested.

Jiles is charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a sawed-off firearm. Hooks is charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery.

The 65-year-old woman did not report any injuries.
