UPDATE: I-75N near Byron reopens after semi-truck fire

UPDATE: Peach County 911 called us around 1 p.m. and said the interstate is back open


A semi-truck fire on I-75 N in Peach County has all lanes blocked.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the accident happened around 10:45 a.m. near Mile Marker 146, which is nearest to the Highway 247 connector and Centerville Road exit.

As of 11 a.m., all lanes are blocked and the expected clear time is in several hours at 1:15 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route if they are driving northbound.
