Man dead, woman hurt in east Macon shooting

UPDATE (10:38 p.m.): Bibb County Sheriff's Office needs help finding the man they say shot one man to death and left a woman wounded.

According to a news release, Anterrio Tremaine Stinson is wanted for the murder of 24-year-old Jonathan Risby and the aggravated assault of 39-year-old Tanvonya Smith.

Investigators believe Stinson is armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and a black skull cap. He is about 6' 2'' tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds.

Anyone with information on Stinson's whereabouts can call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68 crime.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated that an occupant at a home was arrested after deputies found drugs guns and cash there. The occupant was questioned by investigators. He was not arrested.

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said a home involved in a fatal shooting investigation Friday is known to deputies.

"This is obviously a retail establishment for drugs our office has been watching," he said.

A man and a woman were shot following a fight between two males, Davis said. The woman, Tanvonya Smith, 39, of Macon, may have been a bystander, Davis said.

She's being treated for a gunshot wound to the right foot.

The male, 24-year-old Johnathan Risby, also of Macon, was shot to death, according to county Coroner Leon Jones.

Sheriff's Lt. Randy Gonzalez says Risby was shot several times and was taken to Navicent Health where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies were called to the 800 block of Applewood Street at about 11 a.m. where Risby and Smith were found suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Gonzalez. That location is near the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds.

Investigators believe the two were shot in the 200 block of Fairview Avenue, which is around the corner from where the victims' were found, according to Gonzalez.

Investigators do not know the relationship between the two victims.

Davis says investigators have identified a suspect, but his name has not been released. Davis says he expects to have arrest warrants for the suspect Friday and an arrest shortly thereafter.

As part of the investigation, "deputies clearing the house found drugs, several weapons and cash," Davis said. No arrests were made.

Risby's death is Bibb's 27 homicide this year.
