Warner Robins Fire Department sends search & rescue to Ga. Coast

The Warner Robins Fire Department sent a crew to the Georgia Coast to assist in search and rescue operations, according to Mayor Randy Toms’ office.

The 10 members were sent to Camden County to help search buildings for those who stayed behind and to make sure the buildings were clear.

Rick Reynolds, Lt. Auda Squires, Mike Fendley, Michael Buckner, Chad Shelton, Lt. Russell Oakley, Lt. Allen Sapp, Chief Dean Christian, Lt. Brandon Sisa, and Lt. Ned Dixon went on the trip.

The 10 members are also part of the Georgia Search and Rescue Team. The Mayor’s Office says the request came in as, “GSAR Task Force 6 has requested assistance with search 11 areas with approximately 3000 homes that are in-accessible.”

Warner Robins also sent their mobile tent city with the crew.

The group left on Tuesday afternoon and is set to return Wednesday night, according to Mayor Toms’ office.
