Family skips Thanksgiving dinner, goes shopping instead

Kayla Hughes and her family didn't have Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, because they decided to go shopping instead.

"This year we got young'uns, and the high priced items, yea we had to be here early," she said.

The family went to Toys "R" Us on Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins around 1 p.m. and were second in line.

Hughes said it was worth the wait. "Shop smarter, not harder."

"This Monster High doll house is normally $75. It's on sale for $30."

Hughes and her sister-in-law bought 4 boxes of diapers each, which they said should last about a year.

It took only thirty minutes for Hughes to purchase $430 worth of items. She said she saved around $220.

The family plans to celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday.
