A Warner Robins woman says the man who killed her fiance Thursday night pointed his gun at her first.
Raveen Dinkins described the shooting to 13WMAZ's Kristen Swilley.
Warner Robins police say Marcus Hopkins, age 34, was shot in the front yard of a home on Utah Avenue. That's off of Green Street.
According to their news release, it happened around 7:20 p.m.
Dinkins says when she answered the door, a man pointed a handgun at her.
She says she ran to the back of the house to protect a child who was in the home and get her own gun. That's when Hopkins apparently went to the front door.
She heard a gunshot and later found her fiance in the front yard, in a pool of blood. Hopkins was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Dinkins suspects the shooting resulted from a random robbery.
She said Hopkins was a hard worker with a construction job, and she doesn't know any reason why anyone would want to kill him.
Police say they believe Jade Danielly, 22, drove to the house on Utah Avenue and shot Hopkins. When they saw his car, they followed it to Tanglewood Apartments on Elberta Road, where Danielly was arrested.
Danielly is charged with murder, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is in the Warner Robins LEC and will be transported to the Houston County jail.
