Woman injured in Macon hit-and-run accident

Bibb deputies are investigating a hit-and-run accident with injuries, according to a Bibb Sheriff’s Office news release.

It says a deputy was sent to the intersection of Ell Street and Houston Avenue around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Andre Morman, 34, was traveling south on Houston Avenue in a 2006 Cadillac DTS when he was hit by someone driving a 2000 Nissan Xterra.

The release says the driver of the Nissan ran the stop sign on Ell Street and went into the path of the Cadillac, causing the accident.

The driver of the overturned Nissan ran away before the deputy arrived and the female passenger was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health after saying she was injured.

No one in the Cadillac was injured.

The accident is under investigation as the deputy is trying to find out who was driving the Nissan. The release notes the injured passenger is being uncooperative.

Anyone with information can call the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
