Woman suspected in Macon carjacking, assault arrested

A woman suspected in a Aug. 17 carjacking and aggravated assault in Macon has been arrested.

A Crimestoppers tip helped lead authorities to Lori Harrell, 30, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Harrell is accused of assaulting a man and stealing his car.

U.S. Marshals located Harrell Sept. 18. She was taken to the hospital after complaining about cramps from a medical condition. She was hospitalized and arrested when she was released.

Deputies say 22-year-old Desmond White was driving near Ormond Terrace and Flamingo Drive when he stopped and asked a woman where he could buy some "bud."

A woman, believed to be Lori Harrell, got into White’s 2011 Honda Accord and drove to an address on Wericoba Drive.

Another car pulled up behind White's, and a man and a woman got out. The man hit White in the face and took his phone. The woman pulled out a knife and made White get out of his car. The woman got in and started to drive away. White jumped on the hood of the car to get the woman to stop. When they got to Ormond Terrace and Flamingo Drive, the male suspect got out of the other car and hit White until he got off of the car. The two women and the man drove away in both vehicles.
