Halloween isn't just a holiday for candy and costumes, it's also a day for the dogs.
The Macon Dog Park celebrated its five-year anniversary Saturday. People brought their four-legged friends out to run and play.
The Heart of Georgia Humane Society had some pups looking for new homes, and others took part in a Halloween costume contest.
Many said the park gives the dogs a place to be themselves.
"It's great to have them socialize, and to let them run around. They can run free and you can socialize while your pets are socializing so it's fabulous, fabulous thing," said dog owner Traci Freeman.
Friends of the Macon Dog Park, the group that takes care of the property, says the park was funded by a donation of about $76,000.
