Angel Rodriguez spends most of his spare time with his Peruvian horse, Patron.
"They are the only horse that walks with the front legs swinging outward, " said Rodriguez.
Rodriguez heads up the Southern States Peruvian Horse Club. He trains and breeds 19 Peruvian horses on his 135-acre Cochran ranch.
He teamed up with a couple groups to showcase the four-legged treasures and give people a chance to ride them at the first Central Georgia Peruvian festival. He says its the smoothest sailing horse in the world.
"It is like riding on a cloud it is the smoothest feeling that you can ever imagine," said April Hall, Southern States Peruvian Horse Club member.
The festival takes place Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rancho Loma Linda, 715 Kirkpatrick Road, Cochran.
The 'Marinera', a traditional choreographed dance between two people on separate horses, will be performed at the festival, said Rodriguez.
Visitors will also get a taste of Peruvian regional foods, trail rides, kid horse rides, competitions and a close look at Peruvian artifacts and history.
He says people will get a chance to camp out overnight at the ranch for a $10 dollar fee.
