Second grade teacher Patsy Moody won this week's My Teacher's Tops award.

Moody interrupted Tuesday's spelling lesson at Windsor Academy to thank student Rachel Belflower for nominating her.

"I think my teacher is tops because she is very nice, she is very funny, and she is very creative," Belflower wrote in her letter nominating the teacher.

After 28 years of teaching, Moody says her goal for her students remains the same.

"To use what they learn later in life," Moody said.

Her students say she reaches that goal by using different tools to explore the world of learning.

"There are five pencils on the wall over there, to help us learn to do things right," student C. J. Newberry said.

"It's just so fun and it's too fun for me to ever forget," added student Phil Powlesland.

They say she makes it easier, and fun, to understand math, writing cursive and so much more.

"All the stuff she teaches me is just so fun, that's why I just like to be in Mrs. Moody's class," student Sarah Mitchell said.

When it comes to the end result, Moody says she wants her students to remember the good times they shared.

"I care about them, and I want them to do their best always," Moody said.
