The Macon Transit Authority is looking to expand into Warner Robins.
CEO Richard Jones says he has met with representatives who are interested in beginning a public transit system in the area. Recent analysis shows the city was the largest in the state of Georgia to go without one.
Jones says additional funds are needed to keep up with the rising costs of operation.
"I can tell you that Robins has been very supportive of transit coming into Robins Air Force Base. It is the reason now that we have the Robins shuttle that takes citizens of Macon and takes them into Robins Air Force Base every day," Jones said. " I don't know of any other place that's going actually on base. Ours goes on base."
The Macon Transit Authority currently carries approximately 200 passengers a day.
