More than 250 Robins jobs on cutting block in Air Force cuts

Air Force cost reduction could cost 258 jobs at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command at Robins Air Force Base. 21st Century Partnership spokeswoman Judy Smith stated in a news release that's about a fourth of the jobs at the reserve headquarters

The reductions are a part of an Air Force program to eliminate 3,459 positions, the news release states. They say the cuts would save $1.6 billion over the next four years.

Officials hope to reduce the positions with voluntary early retirements and voluntary separations for military personnel.
