Two Central Georgia men got the chance to run around in Wal-Mart Saturday morning for free groceries. The Lambda Phi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity held its annual Grocery Giveaway.
The winners raced around the Wal-Mart on Zebulon Road in Macon and tossed food in their carts.
The first place winner got three minutes to shop. The second place winner got only two. Together, the two racked up a total of $1,000 in groceries.
First place winner Michael Corley plans to donate some of his groceries back to charity.
"I think I'm actually gonna give some back to Omega Psi Phi, because I racked up a big bill for them," Corley said. "I was fortunate enough to win this. So, I'm going to try to return the favor."
Event coordinator Timothy Thomas says they raised over $1,000 in raffle ticket sales for this year's Grocery Giveaway.
That money will go towards the fraternity's scholarship fund and feed needy families on Thanksgiving.
