NEW YORK (AP) -- Questions have recently surfaced about whether former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner is considering a political comeback by running for office next year in New York City.

Weiner on Friday filed disclosure reports with the city's Campaign Finance Board. The report say he's sitting on nearly $4.5 million in contributions.

Over the years, the Democrat has indicated an interest in running for mayor. Local news outlets have reported he is looking into a bid for public advocate.

Weiner's marriage survived the sexting scandal that led to his resignation last year. His wife was pregnant at the time and gave birth to their first child in December.

A spokeswoman says Weiner won't comment on his political future. In an upcoming People magazine interview, Weiner says he's not planning any campaign for now.
