Debra contacted us wondering how often places like Monkey Joe's, and other kid-friendly establishments clean their equipment. We contacted Monkey Joe's and Chuck E. Cheese to find out how they clean house.
Amanda Fontaine and her 2-year-old son stopped by Monkey Joe's to kill a little time.
"He loves it, it tires me out but it'll be good nap time later," she said.
Fontaine's planning a move to Warner Robins and wanted to check out the area, and finding a clean place for her son to play is part of that.
"I see signs all over here about how they clean it and sanitize," said Fontaine.
Monkey Joe's employee Canesha Jackson says the staff dusts and vacuums out the inflatables every day, making sure to get in the cracks and crevices.
After that they wipe down the equipment and video games. Every Tuesday, Swisher Hygiene comes in and cleans with a hospital-grade germicide as well.
"Some kids have germs so we make sure that we clean everything to makes sure nobody gets sick. We have kids that sweat and food so we want to make we clean every day," said Jackson.
A statement from Chuck E. Cheese says employees clean and sanitize the sky-tubes, games, rides and restrooms throughout the day in addition to sanitizing the areas at the beginning and end of each day.
As for Fontaine knowing the company's process makes her feel better about bringing her son by for playtime.
"Since he's only two it needs to be clean wherever he's around," she said.
