The GBI and Hancock County Sheriff's Office are investigating a double homicide, according to Sheriff Tomlyn Terrell Primus.

He says a man and a woman were shot to death in their home at 141 Tommie Lane Sunday night.

He says a call came into the 911 center at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

He says 34-year-old Darryl Scott and 31-year-old Dedria DeShay Green were shot shortly before that.

Primus would not say who placed the emergency call.

He says Green died in the home and Scott later died after being transported to a hospital.

The two were boyfriend and girlfriend, according to Primus.

There were two children living in the home as well, according to Primus.

He says they are safe, but would not say if they witnessed the shootings.

The sheriff would not speculate as to a motive for the shooting, saying that they are still gathering evidence.
