Bibb County Commissioner Joe Allen says he's asking the county to investigate why the new Macon-Bibb County Department of Animal Welfare euthanized so many animals.

Allen says after three days of running what was once Animal Control, the county put down 17 animals, which he says didn't need to happen.

In an interview with WMAZ's Jennifer Moulliet, Interim Director Deborah Biggs said the county put down only 15 dogs last Thursday and explained why.

She also addresses some questions that were raised in Commissioner Joe Allen's press conference Monday.
