Bibb County Republicans are spending the weekend before Election Day making phone calls and canvassing neighborhoods in an effort to get the Central Georgian vote.

Suzanne Wood, Chairwoman for Bibb County Republicans, said they're working hard to make sure they earn every vote.

"We're not taking anything for granted, we're going after that voter in a way we've never done before so we're hoping that's going to pay off in the long run," said Wood.

But Wood also said while they think that Governor Mitt Romney will win the state on Tuesday, they want to put some of their efforts in many of the local races.

13WMAZ caught up with a group of local Republican volunteers canvassing a neighborhood off of Log Cabin Drive in Macon.

Robert Abbott, the Republican candidate for County Commission in District 4, walked to different houses telling voters about what he and other local Republicans would do if elected.

"We are packing packets with all of the candidates for all of the offices on the ballot for the Republican Party and we're going district by district street by street," said Abbott.

Volunteers said they hope it will make all the difference on Election day.
