Three killed in LaGrange plane crash

LAGRANGE, GA. -- A two-engine aircraft crashed at LaGrange-Callaway Airport Saturday afternoon.

There were three people aboard the flight, all of whom died, according to LT. Chris Taylor.

Both the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash. The third passenger, who owned the plane, died after being life-flighted to a nearby hospital.

The passenger's IDs have not yet been released.

When the plane, which was out of Peachtree City, attempted to land, there was a Civil Air-Patrol plane towing a glider across the runway, according to Rusty Miller, who witnessed the crash.

Miller said the plane was then forced to make a steep climb, stalled, and then went nose down into the runway.

The NTSB and FAA are investigating. The NTSB will determine probable cause.
