An autopsy found that a 3-year-old Warner Robins boy died of heat stroke Sunday after he was left in a hot car, police said Monday.
The victim was identified as Andrew Calloway of Warner Robins.
Police spokeswoman Tabitha Pugh said it happened outside a home at 100 Georgetown Boulevard, which is off of Smithville Church Road.
A news release says the child was found unconscious by Shelia Henderson, who had arrived at the home in the car with another adult and two other children.
When she couldn't find the child inside the house she went outside and found him in the car. She called 911 for help.
The boy was pronounced dead at Houston Medical Center.
No charges have been filed, but Pugh said the case is under criminal investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Tom Williams of Warner Robins police at 478 929-6911 or Sergeant Lumpkin of the Houston County sheriff's Juvenile Division at 478 542-2090.
