Indianapolis (Sports Network) - Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina and
Michigan State were given top seeds for the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

Kentucky and Syracuse were No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the Associated
Press poll for the past six weeks, though both lost in their conference
tournaments.
The Wildcats, the No. 1 overall seed, are stationed in the South Region, while
the Orange headline the East Region.
The Tar Heels, the top seed in the Midwest Region, also fell in the ACC title
game, while Michigan State won the Big Ten Tournament crown just minutes
before the selections were announced. The Spartans, who were not ranked in the
preseason top-25, loom large in the West Region.
