Six people from Wrightsville and one from East Dublin face federal weapons charges.

That's according to a news release from Edward Tarver, U.S. attorney for the Savannah district. He said a federal indictment in the case was unsealed Monday.

He says the seven are accused of selling weapons stolen during home burglaries in Wrightsville.

The new release says this comes after a seven-month investigation, when federal officers bought 23 weapons from the suspects, some of them stolen.

They're scheduled to appear in federal court in Dublin Tuesday, to face federal charges of conspiracy to illegally traffic firearms.

They are:

Terryon J. Norris, 24,
Lakendon S. Brown, 23,
Frank L. Wesley, 57,
William T. Walker, 28,
Kendrick L. Dixon, 30,
and Whitney T. Wittmer, 23, all of Wrightsville;
and Mercedes D. Jenkins, 21, East Dublin.

 The Johnson County sheriff's department, Wrightsville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, East Dublin Police Department and ATF all took part in the arrests.
