Tuesday primary elections in Washington County will have extra pairs of eyes on them as voters there cast their ballots.
The U.S. Department of Justice has assigned federal monitors to patrol polling places, ensuring compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Washington County's elections supervisor told 13WMAZ it's a routine procedure for different counties to be selected, and that there haven't been any previous complaints specific to Washington County.
