Rain and storms are spreading into Middle Georgia. Coverage during the morning will be somewhat isolated/scattered, but the storms will become more widespread as the day progresses.
Some of the storms will be strong...producing frequent lightning (one storm cluster in Alabama earlier this morning had more than 1,500 lightning strikes in one 15 minute period). The main severe threat from any storm would be straight-line winds. The stronger storms may produce winds up to 60-70 mph. Hail is also possible in some of the stronger storms.
Stronger storms will be possible from this morning until the late evening. Any storms should weaken/diminish overnight.
The tornado threat for today is minimal (less than 2%) across the entire area.
