A trial date has been set for Stephen McDaniel.
He's the former Mercer Law student accused of killing and dismembering Lauren Giddings, his neighbor and classmate in June 2011.
Bibb County District attorney David Cooke says he conferred Monday with McDaniel's lawyers and Judge Philip Brown.
They agreed on a September trial.
Last week, Cooke announced in a press conference that he had withdrawn the death penalty notice for McDaniel.
