Protests over the Sammie Davis Jr. shooting spilled over into the opening of the city's Cherry Blossom Festival.
At Friday's festivities, police say 43-year-old Anthony Harris walked to the front of the stage and shouted at Mayor Robert Reichert and others during the opening speeches.
He waved a sign that read: "Macon: Our streets run red but we will cover it with pink."
Police escorted him from the grounds.
He's in the Bibb County jail Friday, charged with disrupting a public gathering.
