Ex-State Sen. to Make $150k at New GPB Job

ATLANTA (AP) - Former state Sen. Chip Rogers will be paid more than Gov. Nathan Deal and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in his new position with Georgia Public Broadcasting.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Rogers, who abruptly resigned in December, will be paid $150,000 in his position as executive producer.

The newspaper reports the position is funded by state taxes and the salary was finalized as the governor released budget proposals Thursday.

Rogers, of Woodstock, had been in the state Senate since 2002 and rose to the position of majority leader before his departure. The newspaper reports Rogers is scheduled to begin his new job Tuesday.
