You may have heard that the nation's defense budget is facing automatic spending cuts due to a deal between Congress and the White House last year that raised the nation's debt limit.
That process is known as 'sequestration,' and it would affect many other programs as well.
Both sides say they want to avoid those cuts, but so far can't agree on how to do that.
If you wondered how these defense cuts would affect Georgia, a study by George Mason University commissioned by the Aerospace Institute Association estimates over 50,000 jobs could be lost.
Georgia's Senior Senator Saxby Chambliss has been working on this issue and spoke with 13WMAZ about it on Eyewitness News at Midday.
