Leadership Macon, an annual program led by the Chamber of Commerce, introduced this year's class project.
The project is called "Power of Change," and is expected to go underway with a kickoff event by November.
Mechel McKinley introduced the program to the rest of the class. She says the details for November's kickoff event are not final yet.
The program's director, Lynn Farmer, says this year's project is focused on "a tough subject, which is homelessness."
She says the program will provide a solution to homelessness in Macon by providing a way for people to donate to support groups through meters, that will be be available along downtown streets.
At this point the group is focused on getting others involved as sponsors. Farmer says, those who are interested in sponsoring a meter as a business should contact the Chamber of Commerce at 478-621-2000.
