Guthrie goes low to win Boise Open

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Luke Guthrie fired a 6-under 65 on Sunday and that helped him come from behind to win the Boise Open by four shots.

Guthrie, who won for the first time on the Web.com Tour, finished at 22-under- par 262. His total of 262 was a new tournament record.

Jon Mills set the old mark of 263 in 2007 and was tied by Hunter Haas in 2010.

Michael Putnam, who had at least a share of the lead after the first three rounds, closed with an even-par 71 to share second at minus-18. He was joined there by Scott Gardiner (69), Steve Wheatcroft (69) and Richard H. Lee (66).

Tyrone Van Aswegen posted a 70 on Sunday to take sixth at 17-under-par 267.

Jeff Gove (70), Billy Horschel (68) and Shawn Stefani (63) tied for seventh at minus-16 at Hillcrest Country Club.
