Galloway, NJ (Sports Network) - Michael Miller posted a 3-under 68 on Friday
to lead the team from New York to the title at the USGA Men's State Team
Championship.
Max Buckley had the second score that counted for the New York team, a 4-over
75. They combined for a 1-over 143 in Friday's final round to finish at 2-over
428 for the championship.
Joseph Saladino's 11-over 82 didn't count for the team's score.
It was the first title for New York in this event.
Iowa took second at plus-8, followed by Tennessee at 9-over par. Tennessee had
an even-par 142 on Friday, the lowest score of the final round.
Pennsylvania was fourth at plus-10, with Georgia a stroke back in fifth and
California in sixth at 12-over par.
