GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (WXIA) -- A Gwinnett County teen faces charges for bringing a weapon to school.
Jorge Quintanta, public information officer with Gwinnett Schools, says the student was taken into custody after he brought an air soft gun to Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville. The teen said it was for a school project.
The 15-year old ninth grader is being charged with possession of a weapon on school property.
Quintanta says no students were ever in danger.
This boy and two others are believed responsible for making threats on a Facebook page. Students and parents noticed the thread and alerted school leaders early Tuesday morning.
All three 15-year-old boys face disciplinary action at the school.
The principal sent home a letter to parents telling them about what happened.
