RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) - Friends and relatives are mourning the death of an Atlanta convenience store owner who was gunned down outside his Riverdale home.
Clayton County police say they're searching for suspects in the Tuesday night slaying of Demba Balde. Authorities say he was robbed at gunpoint as he unloaded groceries outside his Riverdale home. CBS Atlanta reports that as Balde ran, a gunman shot and killed him.
Balde owned the Metropolitan Food Mart on Metropolitan Parkway in southwest Atlanta, a few miles from his home.
Outside the store Thursday morning, grieving friends and family were leaving a growing shrine of balloons, candles and other mementoes.
