NARBERTH, Pa. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden says he's never seen someone with as much "undaunted courage" as former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter and that his example should give hope to all families fighting cancer.
Specter is being mourned Tuesday at his funeral in a Philadelphia suburb. He died Sunday at the age of 82 after battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He had fought two previous bouts with Hodgkin lymphoma, and also overcame a brain tumor and cardiac arrest following bypass surgery.
Biden, Specter's former Senate colleague, says he's never seen someone with as much "undaunted courage" as Specter. He says Specter's fights should give hope to all families fighting cancer.
Biden says, "He believed he could change the world, if he just worked hard enough at it."
