ATLANTA (WXIA)-- A Clayton County bomb squad had to assist with searching the home of World Changers Church shooting suspect Floyd Palmer.

U.S. Marshals arrested the 51-year-old Macy's at Lenox Square Wednesday afternoon.

Palmer is due to make his first court appearance at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Overnight officers executed a search warrant on his Riverdale apartment and needed the bomb squad to enter after concerns the door may have been booby-trapped. It turned out there was no device.

11Alive News has learned that Palmer has a police record in Maryland.

Palmer pleaded guilty to a count of assault and carrying a handgun in January 2004. He was also charged with the use of a handgun in the commission of a crime and attempted murder in connection with that incident in a Baltimore court.

Despite the shooting at World Changers Church International Wednesday morning, pastor Creflo Dollar held Wednesday night service.

The congregation gathered and Pastor Dollar addressed the congregation, calling 39-year-old Greg McDowell a "gentleman."

Dollar says he married McDowell and his wife.
