Video: Long Lines at New Jersey Gas Pumps

People stood in long lines to get gas Wednesday in New Jersey. People waited in their cars in lines that stretched a mile and a half.

Motorists in New Jersey are waiting in long lines for gasoline in the wake of Super Storm Sandy.

With few gas stations open, long lines of cars stretched from service areas onto the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike.

Gov. Chris Christie directed state Treasury officials to waive licensing requirements that affect merchants' ability to buy fuel from out-of-state suppliers.

The waiver, which will be in place until Nov. 7, will boost storm-depleted supplies by allowing  merchants temporarily to buy fuel from out of state.
