SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - A top police official in Savannah is planning to address questions about public safety in the wake of three shootings -- two of them fatal -- on the city's south side.

The Savannah Morning News reports that the newly appointed commander of the Savannah-Chatham police department's Southside Precinct will answer questions Monday night at Windsor Hall.

The Windsor Forest Neighborhood Association invited Capt. Dean Fagerstrom to the event after the shootings.

Twenty-one-year-old Savannah State University student Rebecca Foley was shot to death in her car Jan. 21. The next night, 17-year-old Evan Colquitt died after being shot multiple times. And on Jan. 23, a man was injured after being shot through the door of his home.
