TUSTIN, Calif. (AP) - A sheriff's official says investigators have found no signs of illegal drug use by a California gunman who shot three people to death in an unexplained rampage.

Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said Wednesday no drugs were found in the home 20-year-old Ali Syed shared with his parents and it doesn't appear he was using any illegal substances.

Authorities say Syed killed a 20-year-old woman in the home early Tuesday and then killed two more people before committing suicide.

Officials will release the dead woman's name after her family is notified.

They say they don't know what she was doing at the Ladera Ranch address or how she got there.

Ladera Ranch is 55 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
