ATLANTA (AP) - Developers are showing renewed interest in new hotels and renovations in the Metro Atlanta area.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that several hotel properties in the region are getting extensive overhauls and new brands.
A new Hyatt hotel is under construction. Alpharetta officials are studying a possible hotel and convention facility.
Companies are spending more on travel for clients and workers to do business.
Developers now are dusting off pre-recession plans for full-service hotels, said Scott Smith, with a hospitality consulting group in Atlanta.
However, he said, construction financing is still tough to get.
