The high school football season kicks off in less than two weeks and teams from around Central Georgia are continuing to put in as much time on the practice field as possible.

Westside High School enters the 2012 season under fourth year head coach Sheddrick Risper.  Last year, the Seminoles finished with a disappointing 5-5 record.  The garnet and gold failed to make the AAA playoffs for the first time since 2009.

This season, Risper looks to turn things around with a squad he knows well.

"With this team I think that we have to stay focused," said Risper. "The 12th graders now have been with me since 6th grade when I was at the middle school, so we have a very special relationship and you have to keep them focused and know what the prize is at the end."

Westside gets it first test on August 24th when they scrimmage Northeast High School.
