The Jones County Greyhounds have been out of the playoffs since a 5-6 appearance back in 2005. But this year with a new alignment and region adjustment, they are hoping the can change that tune.

Coach Dwight Jones again controls the helm of the purple and gold, and this season the Hounds are off to a good start after a 21-16 road victory of Alcovy in the season opener last Thursday night.

Jones County finished last season with a five hundred record at 5-5, but they are looking for more this season behind the leadership of 20 seniors.

"I just think you know after 4 years going on five, these guys expect to win. We're not hoping to win", says Jones. "I told them we hope for Santa Claus to come visit us at Christmas, but we expect to win on Friday nights. Not being smart or boastful. These guys have worked hard enough. SO when you expect to win. Good things happen to you most times."

Jones County hits the road again this Friday night as they take on Mary Persons and first year head coach Brian Nelson.
