Perry Hopes To Avenge OT loss to Mary Persons

      It's a big region showdown on the football field this Friday night. It's a game that could position an edge for a possible region championship in 2-AAAA.

      The Perry Panthers are one half of this matchup. Coach Stacey Harden is entering his third year as top cat for the maroon and gold. The Panthers enter this week 2-1 after an season opening loss to #1 Peach County 21-14. But since then, they have rallied 2 straight wins and looking for revenge Friday with a third straight win against rival Mary Persons who gave them a triple overtime loss in 2011.

      In this corner, first year head coach Brian Nelson inherits the reigns of Mary Persons from legendary coach Rodney Walker. His Bulldog squad enters Friday's contest 2-1 as well. The Bulldogs also experienced an opening loss to a rival in Jackson before they rebounded and have hammered out two wins the past couple of weeks.

      And come Football Friday night, it will be two playoff teams from last year ready to take the lead in region play under the lights.
And it all goes down Friday Night at 730 at Dan Pitts Stadium in Forsyth.
