It's official, College Women's basketball is on the countdown block as Mercer held their first official two a days practice Thursday.
This year the Bears will hit the floor without their starting guard and leading scorer the past two seasons in Briana Williams. The junior tore her ACL while working out a couple of weeks but will remain on the bench as student-coach for the Orange and Black. Without Williams, Coach Susie Gardner still returns 9 players to a team that finished last in the A Sun standings a year ago. But even through the adversity, Gardner is excited about what's next for the Bears.
Mercer has an exhibition game with Francis Marion on Nov 1st. They open the regular season Nov. 9th with Brevard at home.
