MACON, Ga.-- Monday afternoon at Hawkins Arena on the Mercer campus everyone was looking up to see the new addition in the rafters. The Bears put the finishing touches on their new scoreboard three days before the first basketball game.
The board features four monitors and a marquee ring around the bottom. The staff plans to use the screens for in-game video and stats.
"We'll be able to have more of an interactive type of atmosphere," said Mercer athletic director Jim Cole. "Simple stuff from the fan cam, to the kiss cam, being able to now have commercials that we can see to the community that we can play during time-outs or at halftime... ...Just kind of puts a face and an image with what we're doing."
