The Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation hosted their Athletics Night in Macon Thursday evening in front of alumni and fans.

Director of Athletics, Tom Kleinlein and Head Baseball Coach Rodney Hennon were on hand to talk about the new changes going on for the Eagles sports programs. The hot button topic buzzing with Eagles fans lately is will GSU make the leap from the Football Championship Subdivision to Football Bowl Subdivision while joining a new conference and according to Kleinlein it's not a matter of if but when.

"It changes everyday", says Kleinlein. "Our job is to keep growing Georgia Southern and to make Georgia Southern as popular and attractive as we can make it. We also need to continue our conversations with conferences across the country. We've already had our student fees passed by our students to allow us to go to BCS football and we're out just spreading the word about Georgia Southern."

Georgia Southern hosts 14 athletic teams and they all play at the D1 major college level except for football.
